I give GL all the credit in the world when it comes to Napoleon, because he's so hardcore about him. I honestly don't know a whole lot about the man, and probably most of what I do know is from reading GL's posts over the years. I never did understand why he always has his hand inside his top as depicted in those paintings, but I mean, I guess we all our respective scratches to itch...
Thanks for the compliments Lew. That pose was actually very common for portraits in that era. Napoleon simply became the most famous person of his age and it became associated with him more than anyone. Many foreign leaders began assuming the same pose after his exile and I have seen portraits of Wellington, King George III, Metternich, Czar Alexandre, Frederick William of Prussia, Louis XVIII to name a few...

I was pleased to learn from my cousin (she has done extensive geneology research on my father's side of the family) that I DO have a family connection to Napoleon, albeit a slight one: his 2nd wife, Marie Louise, her great grandfather x7 is my great grandfather x13 which means Napoleon's son and I have the same ancestor. OK GL after I give you props for your earlier post, and then you say something like that. Jane Seymour made her debut in "Live and Let Die," and that was 1973. 'Enerey the 8th, according to Herman's Hermits, was King in like the 1960s. So how could he have killed Dr. Quinn?
